The establishment of vegetable collection hubs under the ISCHV Project implemented by AR Malik Seeds has emerged as a transformative intervention in strengthening the agricultural value chain. These hubs have created a structured, reliable, and efficient marketing system that benefits approximately 1,500 farmers and 25 market actors while facilitating the daily trade of nearly 5 metric tons (MT) of fresh vegetables.

The initiative has generated significant economic, social, and operational impacts by improving market access, reducing post-harvest losses, and enhancing farmers’ participation in organized agricultural markets.

Enhancing Farmers’ Income and Livelihood Security

Creating Fair and Transparent Market Opportunities

Before the establishment of the collection hubs, many smallholder farmers faced major challenges such as limited access to markets. These barriers often reduced farmers’ profits and weakened their bargaining power.

The collection hubs have transformed this situation by providing:

• A direct and organized marketplace for farmers
• Fair and transparent pricing systems
• Improved access to buyers and traders
• Better opportunities for income generation

As a result, farmers are now receiving more stable and often higher prices for their produce. Increased earnings have enabled them to invest in quality agricultural inputs, improved technologies, and better farming practices, ultimately strengthening livelihood security.
